[Knock knock knock on Mason's door! She crosses her arms and leans against the doorframe, trying not to look too frustrated.]

[After leaving Simon's cabin, Tiffany high-tails it back to her own. She's a whirlwind of emotions: everything from her ordeal with Sylvanas, which she hasn't even come close to fully dealing with yet; the powers and inmate rights debates, which she'd accidentally sparked off and then almost immediately felt completely overwhelmed by; and now this.

She enters her cabin, shuts the door behind her, and leans against it, closing her eyes and sliding down to the floor. She's not crying, but she thinks she's probably close to it.]

Fuck.

[Tiffany has a special relationship with the deck. The view is at once terrifying and beautiful, and the knowledge that the ship's (occasionally faulty) gravity field is the only thing keeping her from floating away is always in the back of her mind. Sometimes that scares her away. Today, it doesn't. Above all, the deck makes her feel small - and right now, that's a good thing. She wants to get lost in the stars.

She sees Beyond, but for once she isn't chatty; she gives him a little nod and a quiet hey as she goes to sit down on one of the benches.]

Tiffany appreciates the gentleness - she has fun going at it hard and fast sometimes, but tenderness of any sort really makes her melt. She gets down to her bra (black, lacy, and Paris-bought; she's suddenly glad that the port hadn't given her just her sports bras), revealing more of her tattoos.

"You don't think they're ugly, right?" she breathes it against his shoulder. "The tattoos? The--" She points at one, in case he doesn't know what the word means.

I was on Seheron for many years.

A few days before the incident with the Bull, Nina is having her own, more personal warden struggle, and after one terrible fight with Eggsy, she's feeling weak and raw enough to be in general retreat mode. She doesn't really weep much in general, not by herself, and she doesn't now. She has shed a few tears, though, and her eyes are still a little glassy, her face still a little flushed, by the time Tiffany gets home to find her collecting the clothes that have migrated here from her cell.

She looks up at her, then almost immediately lowers her eyes again, fixing the crease on the shirt she's carefully folding. "I'm sorry," she says softly. "I think I need to go. It's nothing to do with you, I just..." She shakes her head, fixing the crease again. "I can't keep staying here forever."

Tiff. Are you going to give a gift to Alec? Could you do me a favor? I don't really want to drop mine off in person, mind doing it for me?

The thirst is still there, and the urge to attack, to fight something (anything), but it's starting be overshadowed by fear as it begins to occur to him that he should be more concerned about being locked up, and about the fact that his filter is not resetting.]

Tiffany? I know you have a lot of responsibilities, but...

So I got Bullseye this month. I... This is gonna be awkward but. I don't want to make it worse than it's gotta be. And I have no idea what to do.

[It's not that it doesn't bother Nina when people like Tristan and Alfie start parading around on the network, trying to upset everybody. It upsets her. But she considers herself smart enough not to rise to it, and so while Alfie's broadcast makes her feel nauseated and a little angry, she switches it off and turns her attention solidly onto the crossword puzzle she's toying with.

...Which makes it all the more frustrating when she hears Tiffany in the other room, rising to the bait, engaging, encouraging him. She goes to the door and listens for a while, increasingly horrified, especially when Tiffany starts all but threatening to go after him. Still, she holds back, bizarrely grateful for Alfie's seeming (and surprising) reasonableness, until she hears Tiffany's voice go hard and brittle, and her words start to get... well, even more irrational by Nina's standards.

At that point, she can't really take any more. She doesn't dare shout at Alfie, but she moves into the room and sits down hastily by Tiffany, hissing:]

What the hell are you doing?

[Once everyone has returned to normal, he sends her this message:]

Were they all inmates or wardens? Like the children.
