It's just so soft. Is it hard to make things stay in it, since it's so smooth?

Oh, you can just tie 'em in. I wore ribbons sometimes when I was little. Do girls do that a lot where you come from?

Well, it's more of an arbora fashion, but I still like it for special occasions. Even if I do usually end up hitting myself in the nose if I wear anything that dangles.

Sure. I think most of my jewelry is here, or something that looks like it, anyway, you know.

Everyone does, if there's somebody to impress. Consorts wear the most, probably.

[Or... normal ones do. When your most notable consorts are a reformed feral and a line grandfather, you take what you can get.]

I still don't get the consort thing. Is that just somebody you sleep with?

It's something you're born. There are three kinds of aeriat. Warriors, like me, and queens and consorts.

[And explaining the difference without mentioning wings or shapeshifting is tricky.]

They're much bigger and stronger than we are. And they can clutch.

Does that mean they can have babies?

All girls can do that on my world. Well, most girls.

All arbora can, and queens and consorts. It's just warriors who can't.
