[Knock knock knock on Mason's door! She crosses her arms and leans against the doorframe, trying not to look too frustrated.]

[Mason, equally frustrated at his own inability to understand anything, opens the door, his face in a squint]

...What's all this about, then?

Pretty sure I should be asking you that, 'cause I gotta say I'm real confused by you right now.

S'not a huge surprise. I'm often confused by me.

Why can't you just say the stuff you're really thinking? I'd be a lot less confusing that way.

[There's a somewhat long pause as she thinks - arms crossed, looking down at the floor. Then suddenly, she looks back up at him.]

I think you like how things are now. And you’re worried I’m gonna decide I like someone else better than I like you, and we’re not gonna be what we are anymore.

Maybe that's not right; I don't know. I ain't your head. But that's what it seems like to me.

...M'a jealous person, Tiff. I dunno. I don't like seeing you around other men. Especially ones who look as good as he does.

Well, most of my friends here are guys, and I don't think that's changing anytime soon.

[Her tone isn't harsh or angry, but it is matter-of-fact; she doesn't plan on avoiding guys, and she wants to make that very clear.]

But I ain't going around flirting with them either; not really. I don't really like anyone else in that way right now.

If you did, would you tell me?

Yeah. I wouldn't string you on or nothing.

But we aren't... actually dating, are we? You and me? When I said that before I wasn't trying to make things complicated, I was confused.

Fuckin' hell, Tiff, I don't know. It's not like I'm much in the habit of dating women.

[She slides down the wall until she's sitting on the floor, then leans over to lightly nudge him in the knee with her elbow.]

You're the most confusing guy I ever knew.

[Mason peers down curiously at Tiffany on the floor, his brow creasing]

I don't mean to be. I'm jus' not in the habit of acting like a living sort of person.

I know you don't.

... But look, you like flirting with girls, right? A lot more than I like flirting with guys. And you probably don't want to stop doing that, do you?

...No, but I don' flirt with them much anymore. Not since I met you.

Well, I don't flirt with guys so much anymore, either.

[She reaches for his arm, lightly tugging.]

C'mere, I wanna tell you something.

[Mason blinks, but allows Tiffany to pull him closer, falling to the floor next to her]

What?

[She touches two fingers to his cheek to turn his head in her direction, then leans in to kiss him, soft and gentle and sweet. After a short time she draws back just barely, her nose bumping against his.]

I do not want to kiss anyone else like that.

So calm the fuck down, okay?

[Mason hesitates, before giving a goofy smile, wrapping his arm around Tiffany]

...Sorry. I know, I oughtn't be jealous.

Mm, yeah. Probably not.

[She leans into him.]

But it means you like me, right?

[He grins, and wraps both arms around her now]

Means I like you quite a lot.

[Hallway snuggles are truly the classiest of Barge activities.]
