It's feeling nice right now, anyway.

[He's probably being unfair. Even Stone wouldn't chase him out of bed right after he'd died. But he enjoys feeling put upon.]

[Tiffany starts to lightly pat his hair, still trying to be as gentle as possible. She knows from experience how death tolls feel, and since she doesn't know how he died, she has no way of knowing where it hurts the most. Better to be safe than sorry.]

Well, I ain't gonna bite somebody who's recovering. But I ain't a big biter normally.

... I could be, though. If you wanted me to be.

That doesn't sound so bad. I think. I think I've confused my metaphor, or it wasn't a very good one in the first place.

I thought you were talking about sex stuff.

[mentornomore]

It was in there. I'm tired. Soon as I feel better, though. I'll be more up to it then.

I wasn't trying to hit on you right now.

I didn't really think you... I should stop talking until my brain turns back on.

[She turns her head against one of the pillows, hiding her grin.]

[He continues lazily playing with her hair.]

[She nuzzles against his hand.]

I like it when you do that.

Good. It's about what I can do.

[It'd be too tiring if it weren't having a useful effect.]

[Tiffany thinks it's a good observation. She grins and kisses his wrist.]

Thanks. You got, uh... a lot of good-looking stuff.

[He just smiles--toothily if tiredly--and twirls a lock of her hair around his finger.]

It's just so soft. Is it hard to make things stay in it, since it's so smooth?

What do you mean? What kinds of things?

[mentornomore]

Beads, or ribbons? Is that not something humans do?

[Fashion chat is such a reliable source of smalltalk. Every time he thinks he's being normal... Has he seen humans putting ornaments in their hair? He's not sure.]

Oh, you can just tie 'em in. I wore ribbons sometimes when I was little. Do girls do that a lot where you come from?

[mentornomore]

[Girls?]

Well, it's more of an arbora fashion, but I still like it for special occasions. Even if I do usually end up hitting myself in the nose if I wear anything that dangles.

[tucky]

You wear them, too?

[She tugs lightly at a lock of his hair, trying to picture it.]

Can I see someday?

[mentornomore]

Sure. I think most of my jewelry is here, or something that looks like it, anyway, you know.

[Cabins are weird.]

I don't have very much, though.

[His personal collection would put to shame the treasures of many a wealthy human fashion plate.]
