It's good that he has people who care about him. Sticking already trapped teenagers in prison, in some ways this place is quite other justice systems.

it's just the favorite euphemism for prisons, true justice rarely comes into it

i know ive heard it before, but maybe we need a new euphemism

but 'the really biased and ill thought out system' doesn't quite roll off the tongue

I have definitely noticed a growth in my moral development. example: there was a time when I might have been concerned about violent destruction and death but a little time on the barge has assured me that's just the proper path to happiness.

one time i killed a bunch of people and got stuck down in 0, and a bunch of wardens i didnt even like stood in front of my cell and talked to me about how disappointed they were in me

it really worked, hearing lectures from all those people whose opinions i didnt care about made me change my ways

that is a moving story of the sort of beautiful, life changing experiences you can have here. where else can experience the wonder of having lots of people come lecture you? it is truly rare.

now i realize that i haven't been getting the most out of my stay here, i've only heard lectures in generalities. if only someone cared enough to take the time out of their busy schedule in order to treat me like a child, i too could be saved.

yea im a model citizen right now, its a good thing nobody tried to listen to me or respect me or tell me i deserved to be able to make my own choices cuz that wouldnt have worked at all

its all about lecuring and awful floods and getting murdered and maimed a lot, thats what does it

see, now i can understand if a few people don't approve of your warden style. you start respecting people or their choices and you don't know what sort of madness that could lead to. thats the sort of thing that would make the barge a dangerous and uncomfortable place.

we have to stick to the stuff that works. no maiming than no morals, solid life lesson.

ive really heard people say stuff that sounded like that and they meant it

i've met similar people. i can understand it if they want punishment but it's hard to believe they could really believe that it would lead to anything positive

they should just admit its about wanting to get them out of the way for a while instead of pretending its gonna do them any good for them

it can even be understandable. its different here but back home, for example, theres this serial killer who we locked up to stop him killing again. no one thinks its going to make him a better person.
