What you're basically saying is you need the brainwashing to keep control of yourself. I think you're stronger than that Bull.

Are there... healthy rituals that are part of the Qun? Something else that you can channel your energy through and help you find that inner calm?

Yeah that is what I am saying, Steve. Do you really think I am stronger than that? Didn't you walk past Eggsy and Alec? How long should I keep looking for something different?

I don't know what happened with Eggsy and Alec but I highly doubt that you hunted them down and maliciously killed either one of them.

You said you've been feeling out of control for a while, what have you been doing about it?

I've been doing what Qunari do to clear their head which is taking a beating.

I don't know why that happened with Alec. Yes I threw a punch at him, but then I told him to leave, plenty of times. He didn't. Alec can fight too, why didn't he fight back?

I'm not saying I haven't tried that myself in the past, but I can't say I've really found it all that successful in clearing my head. Do you?

[ That catches Steve as odd. ] ... What was he doing instead?

Because he told me I was a fuck up. I ... I just meant it to be a warning so I could go back to my cabin.

He tried telling me what to do, said I couldn't control myself, called me an animal, said I fucked everything up. Spit in my face.

[Tiffany goes quiet here, letting Steve take this one.]

[ Steve frowned, the investigator in him coming to the forefront. ] Why would he taunt you like that? Did something happen that lead up to that?

Besides, what difference does it make what Alec thinks? Surely you don't believe him or care what about his opinion. Why let him get to you like that?

Some stuff happened in the Breach. I.. It was my job to get information for Sinjir, Alec was one of the targets.

I... It hadn't just been him though. Felt like he was just saying what this whole ship was thinking.

Sinjir... I don't think I know... Who is... Targets?! Why? [ This wasn't what he was expecting, not that he knew what to expect but this wasn't it. Clearly Steve's confused about who Sinjir is, why Bull would be getting information for him or why Alec would be a target. Back-tracking he takes another deep breath and lets it out slow. ] Okay, what happened?

He's talking about a breach.

[Tiffany can't remember what Steve was doing during the last breach, and she doesn't know how much he understands about them, so she wants to clear at least one thing up.]

None of 'em were themselves.

But a breach, or whatever else happens here, can cause something like that to happen? Unchecked?

And I get they weren't themselves, but now Bull is paying the price now that he is back to himself. And possibly Alec is as well.

[ Steve had stayed with Mary during the latest Breach. There was too much going on for him personally to get involved with what was happening with the Barge. But Steve hadn't realized how sinister things could actually get. Circus world was one thing, but that was an outside threat, this was a threat from within. ]

Sinjir. Inmate who came here a short while ago. In the Breach he and I both worked for some government agency. My job was to collect information, by any means nessicary. Alec was a bit of a slippery eel, and when they get slippery you just have to squeeze harder.

Long story short, I hurt him.

[ Steve has no idea where to even start. He hadn't realized that they could lose so much of themselves in a barge event. The fact that their minds can be played with, that they aren't in control. Worse, they then have to deal with the consequences later. ]

What happened isn't fair. Not to you or to Alec. But, it's not your fault either. Not what happened during the breach.

That was part of my job. Before as well. Gathering intel. Not so much forcing it out of people though.

What you did before and what happened during the breach is not the same thing.

The work you did back home was an established system where you are in full control of your mind and capabilities. What happened here was a barge-induced scenario where you didn't know what was going on. There's really no comparison.

So, let's say you had this... re-education before Alec approached. How would that encounter have gone differently?

Well. I wouldn't have been drinking. I wouldn't have let his words get to me.

So it's more about resorting to alcohol then? Why were you drinking? Or, how would re-education stop you from drinking or wanting a drink?
