No, I don't have amnesia. I know my past but I didn't think that would have gotten me here.

It's... Not all that cut and dry I guess.

Quentin asked for me, he was denied. He figured once I got a permanent warden the file would be released and I could get an idea what the issue is.

So, I wait. I don't know, maybe I'm here to work on my patience.

I don't think your file's gonna tell you anything you don't know. But they ain't all written the same; I noticed that. So maybe I'm wrong.

You ever seen anybody else's file?

No, I haven't.

I was under the impression it would at least say what I'm here for - either by supposed crime or by situation.

For me it just listed stuff out. I never read a file that said why - it just said stuff that happened.

I hope yours is different, if that's what you want.

With any luck I can figure out the why from what's listed, if that's what there is.

Frankly I don't think it's about what I want.

Actually, I am. A lot of my past is... ~~confidential~~ sensitive. But it's out of my hands.

Maybe. Does that happen? A warden not reading the file of their inmate?

My warden never read mine. I didn't read my inmate's until she said I could. I know other people who feel the same way.

I would have thought since the wardens have a stake in their inmate's progression they'd be all over that kind of thing.

I don't think invading your privacy's gonna do shit for anybody.

Depends on the warden. A lot of 'em talk.
