Yeah, I guess I did say that. And I... I don't know her real well. But people who do know her, and people who know people like her - they're saying I probably insulted her by accident when I showed up all by myself. So I regret that. I regret thinking what worked for one person would work for somebody else.

People who know her ... like the other wardens she's attacked, perhaps?

I don't know. In one of the cases, maybe; not in the other.

But I do know she's got people she likes. I think one of them should be her warden. You can't be a team with someone you wanna kill.

There are people here who are quite concerned about your welfare, Tiffany.

[tucky]

There are people who think I'm a bad person now.

[recinerate]

Because you were killed by your inmate?

[tucky]

Because they think I fuck everything up.

[recinerate]

"Everything" is a broad category, Tiffany. Too broad for any one person.

I don't think I fuck everything up. But I know I don't do everything right, neither.

Again, it's impossible for any one person to be perfect at all things, Tiffany.

[he slowly shifts on the bench out of his weird perch, sitting down in a mostly normal fashion. he does keep one foot flat on the surface of the bench, knee drawn up to his chest.]

No, but it makes sense.

[She snorts.]

I'll tell you what I regret the most, though; I regret Lourdes finding my body.

[he turns his head to the side, so he's still looking at tiffany, and lays his head down on his knee.]

I know. I care for her very much, too. I love her.

You do?

[it's odd, to him, how easily she says this, that she loves lourdes.]

How do you know?

[tucky]

I feel it in my heart. Ain't that always how you know you love somebody?

[recinerate]

I wouldn't know.

[feelings are illogical, remember? beyond has spent a good portion of his life learning to ignore his feelings.]

You never loved anybody?

[recinerate]

My mother, perhaps. [he picks his head up off his knee, turns his attention to fiddling with the hem of his jeans.] She died. I was very young.

[tucky]

I'm sorry.

I hope you can find more people to love.

[recinerate]

[he nods, too uncomfortable to say anything in direct response. in all honestly, beyond is unsure if he's even capable of feeling love, or if it's even something he wants. the pain of losing his mother was not negligible.]

Tiffany, how would you feel if Lourdes were killed?

[tucky]

Terrible.
