[Tiffany pauses for a moment, at a loss for words; she has a very romanticized view of warden/inmate relationships to begin with, and that strikes her as very sad. But he's also not wrong, so--]

Rhysball loves me. And Rosie told me I have a home with her. And Hange DID invite me back if I wanted. That's showing she cares.

She does for sure. Like I said, I don't even know her that well and I can see it.

I think we, like-- deal with it differently, but I wasn't ever used to feeling loved, either.

[he nods, a little, and stretches an arm out around Tiffany's shoulders comfortingly]

Yeah, but that gets better, too. I used to be really desperate, and I don't feel like that anymore.

What used to make you desperate?

Anyone being kind to me, at all, for any reason. Even if it was only a little bit, or if they had bad intentions; I didn't notice or care. I would just hang on.

Hey; I feel that. I used to make clones of myself just so I'd have someone to talk to. I didn't care if people didn't wanna be around m, I wanted to be seen.

Guess this place changed the both of us.

Dillon Cole, maybe. Roderick. Other people who aren't here anymore and who you never met.

[he nods, and gives Tiffany a comforting squeeze]

But hey, I'm not alone here. I got Lark, and Iris and Barbara, and Misty. Nick. Callisto, even, even though I don't, like-- rely on her emotionally.

[he grins at the mention of most of these people, nodding, until Callisto is brought up]

You can rely on your inmate like that?

I mean, not California, obvs, she's scary as shit now that I can feel pain, but in general.

I think it depends on the person, and the relationship you got.

Yeah.

I don't mind if she kills me for turning human, fyi. I mean, I DO, but she seems pretty broken up about it.

She's intense.

I was really glad when I got put with her and everybody thinks I'm crazy for it.

[A slight exaggeration, but.]

At least you'll never be bored!

Like, she's intense but at least she's consistent and doesn't try to fuck with your mind or your emotions or play tricks on you.
