Actually, I like him better than I used to, too. We had a good talk about Barge shit and the problems he's been having.

He doing okay? I'm kind of the one who got him demoted so I feel a little guilty about that.

I was a little bit worried about him, but you know him better than I do. I like that he cares about trying to make the Barge better.

Yeah. Just wish he wouldn't hate on the Big Guy so much. Everyone's got problems.

The Admiral? He does a lot of things to make people bitter.

[beejfu]

Yeah, I know.

He's also the guy who delivered on a centuries-old promise. He made me alive.

I'm not saying he never did anything good. And-- you know, there's some things I got a more charitable opinion of on than most people. But he's an asshole, and he's uncommunicative.

We're all assholes.

I'm not defending him; like you said, I don't know enough about him,

And whose fault is that? It ain't yours. It ain't ours. He could work with us a lot more than he does.

Or we could all be on a hell ship where he promised us the moon and then never deliver on it. I woulda fell for it hook line and sinker.

[She ducks her head down for a second, burying her face against his shoulder, and starts to laugh.]

[he barks out a laugh too, hugging her to his shoulder]

We coulda been royally fucked and not even know it until it was too late!

When I was an inmate, I thought he was so amazing. I was just so happy that he brought me here, and that was all I could see.

Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon phase. He gave me a chance where nobody else would.

Why did you stop liking him so much?

I got out of the honeymoon phase and started seeing his faults.

Well, it's the stuff I already said, mostly. People give him a lot of good advice and suggestions. If he can't do them, he should explain why, instead of being dismissive.
