What's going on?

I've been running on empty since before we got back from the port... assume I don't know anything so I don't come into this with assumptions.

Okay, but you know there's a lot I'm not gonna say, right?

The port was a breach for me, and I was attacking people, and Callisto killed me. When we got back she took my body back to my cabin, but she was using it to, like-- threaten people; that part's on the network. She went after a couple other people too, and Quentin found her and knocked her out and locked her up for a while.

[He hasn't had time to even glance at the network and he still kicks himself for not.]

Why is she still in Zero, then?

Why're you asking me instead of her?

And she didn't tell you?

She told me what she did. From her perspective. It never pays to go off of just one point of view.

My point of view on why she's still in Zero even though the door's unlocked is one of those things I'm not gonna talk about.

Is that the same reason you didn't tell anyone she was lashing out?

How high is the risk level right now? Or in the next week, or when she decides to leave Zero? [It's an honest question. He's mildly confused about Callisto's motives for not continuing her rampage.]

That's the kind of thing that changes real fast with her. Right now, next week, when she decides to leave Zero, five minutes from right now--

If anyone can assess that, it's you. [By which he means, he trusts her judgment.]

My concern is that if she does go after people again when she comes back up, it might just be a powder keg up here. People are taking a little longer to recover from that port than they have before.

I'd put myself in between her and anybody on this ship.

I know you would. But I don't know that one person would be enough to keep her from getting to the rest of the ship. Am I wrong?

No. But it's a distraction, and it buys people time to run.

...This is why I wish we had a quick alert system. The potential for abuse is there but at the same time... all the massacres we've had, and we all still try to handle it alone.

If she was going off, Lark, people'd know to run.

I didn't. I was busy in the kitchen and the infirmary. I didn't even know anything happened until I saw her in Zero.

You'd know if you were close by and in danger, though. If you're in the kitchen or infirmary and she's, like, four floors away, you don't have to run.

And if she disembowels my inmate? How would you feel in my place right now?

Do you really think making a fucking-- network post or alarm call to the whole ship would help? That'd just bring more people who'd try to get involved and get killed for it.
