Re: [infirmary spam]
[If this brought back memories of Jedao One - if he just doesn't want to see Jedao's face -]
Some people could be very cruel with one whisper, before someone dazed could say anything at all. I wouldn't do that either. But you could.
[infirmary spam]
There's always a chance I'm gonna make the wrong choice.
Re: [infirmary spam]
[His hands flex, bare of Jedao One's ever-present fingerless gloves, empty.]
I just think of this stuff.
[infirmary spam]
[She says, and refrains from saying that she's pretty sure Jedao Prime thought about it, too.]
You gonna call me stupid or naive, though? Or think those things without saying them? 'Cause if you're thinking them I'd like it better if you just said it out loud.
Re: [infirmary spam]
I don't know you yet. I don't know this place, either. I don't know what precautions you have, or how well you know the dynamics and high risk actors here, but it's probably better than me. I don't know how good you are at reading body language, or whether you would have asked more questions if it had been Flint here instead of me. I don't know if my worries are reasonable or paranoid, here. If this is a thing people bother to try often enough that screening for it is worth the tradeoffs. I don't understand why anyone would hurt Fitz and I'm freaking out a little bit.
To the extent I was pushing you and trying to figure it out, I think I was more worried you might be - careless. Or just have blind spots. Different people register different kinds of harm differently. That isn't the same as being naive.
[If she wants him to say what he's thinking out loud...]
[infirmary spam]
If Flint shows up I wouldn't let him stay here at all unless he needed medical treatment, and then he'd get a private room. I mean, unless I had a real good reason to think that Fitz would be okay with him hanging out, and I don't.
[She sighs.]
I don't know why anybody would hurt Fitz, either. I'm sorry.
Re: [infirmary spam]
...sorry. It's your job. I'll just.
[The last time he sat in Medical with someone he cared about unconscious - no, no. He's not thinking about that. It's different. He's not thinking about whatever Jedao One did to Fitz either, what he could be capable of. He's just - he's just going to sit.]
[infirmary spam]
... I think I'm pretty good at reading body language. Alec's even better. I'm not gonna say we'd never fuck it up, but I don't think either of us is careless. Dracula neither.
Re: [infirmary spam]
[For telling him, for taking it seriously.]
[infirmary spam]
I do got blind spots sometimes. I got different ones from the ones I had when I got here. I think talking about this stuff is important, and not just to make you feel better.
Re: [infirmary spam]
[His hand hovers for a moment, like he wants to reach for Fitz's hand, but ultimately he does't do it.]
[infirmary spam]
It's hard to get briefed on anything here. Stuff is always changing.
-- I can tell he matters to you, Jedao. That ain't hard to read at all.
Re: [infirmary spam]
[Except for the ways that Fitz seemed to - not just accept, but understand.]
But he was kind to me, when I gather he had every reason not to be.

I don't know if it's that.

But when I did a small, nice thing for her, she thanked me like it was the biggest thing in the world. And that-- I got that.
