Funny. Because I've told a few people that the breach felt like a violation of my autonomy in a similar way and I got...laughed at, like a kid who didn't understand a lego set. Seems like what sets people off is pretty subjective.

Besides, I don't think he'd ever use it for that.

That fucking Iris lady. I said I didn't like being turned into someone I'm not and she just laughed and gave me the "oh sweetie it's not that bad" talk.

[ Iris was not intending to mock her in any way, but Carol is touchy and reads the worst intent into everything. Still, laughter or no, she doesn't feel like her issues with the breach are being taken seriously compared to how concerned everyone is about John and Bliss. ]

Yeah, I got pretty colorful with her, but that only seemed to amuse her even more. If you have any secrets to actually pissing her off I'd like to hear 'em.

Sometimes she just acts like if it's not important to her then it shouldn't be important to anybody. That's all. She's wrong and that's bullshit.

Ugh. I can't stand that. I don't give a fuck about most people's problems but I won't tell them how they should feel about it.

Especially if she's gonna be all condescending when people get pissed at her for it. Breaches suck. And they do fuck with our autonomy, just like a lot of floods. Ain't nothing wrong with hating that.

If you don't think John'd use Bliss for mind control stuff, what do you think he'd use it for?

He asked for it as part of a religious ritual and I trust that he would have used it for that and that alone. He takes it very seriously.

John's not the commanding type. I think he'd see mind control as a burden more than anything.

He try asking for it without the mind control parts?

I'm not sure if he did, or if he even knew it was an option. I doubt he wants to ask for much of anything now.

He might, but I think he'll need to wait until his current temp is off his back. Hopefully whoever he gets next month is less of a pain in the ass.

I can't imagine what sort of person the Admiral'd think would make sense for me. And I'm not sure I want to know.

Forcing him to be supervised from 6 AM until it's time for bed. All day long, he's stuck following him around.

I don't know him. I don't know if he'd listen to me or care about what I have to say. But I think if he wants to watch John he should fuck up his own schedule instead of making John fuck up his, and I'll tell him that if John wants me to.

He ain't using magic or mind control of his own to make him obey, right?

And the thing about that is, John's schedule involves hanging with me, and I don't want any prying eyes.

[ It's mostly the gang stuff that she doesn't want wardens in on, but she'll play it off as just wanting to make out with him if that raises too much suspicion. ]

You guys try talking to this Zack guy? Maybe y'all can do a compromise or work out an understanding. Wardens here are--

[She pauses, unwilling to present a statement as broad and subjective as Wardens here aren't as bad as Litchfield guards as if it were objective fact.]

Wardens here are really different from Litchfield guards. We get some power-trippers, but most people care about doing the right thing, and sometimes-- a lot of the time, they'll listen if you tell them they're not. If Zack's doing this because he thinks it's the only way he can protect people from Bliss, and y'all tell him that it's actually fucking degrading and figure out a solution that isn't--

That's part of the problem, really. Some baton-twirling bastard at Litchfield can be bought. Here? They want what's best for you, and if you disagree about what that is there's nothing you can do to motivate them to fuck off.

[ Short of stabbing them, maybe, but Carol's not going to float that idea in front of a warden even if this warden is a fellow prisoner. ]

He gave John another option, which was to work out an action plan to manage his anger and not attack a warden again. I think Zack's more concerned about that than the Bliss. John and I both agree that's bullshit and anyone he attacked had it coming, so following Zack around all day is the protest option. If we raise an objection, he'll circle right back to making the action plan instead.

Manage, I think. A plan to do something other than physically attack someone the next time they piss him off.
