Hey, y'all. I been thinking about some stuff lately - about powers. I don't have any and I never did, except for Admiral powers and except for one time when I thought I had some of my own - but that's another story.

They're just kinda all over the place here, I noticed. Arthas had his, and he tried to kill the whole Barge. And I know wardens hurt people with their powers sometimes. I've seen it. And we got inmates who don't have any powers at all, but still hurt and kill people. It's like I was telling someone earlier - it ain't like the Barge is safe when inmates have powers, and dangerous when they don't. It's a lot more complicated than that.

I got two inmates I been talking to, Lourdes and Pietro - and they want their powers back 'cause they don't feel right and whole without 'em. And I don't blame 'em, if I'm gonna be real honest. I maybe would have, before I was a warden, but now I got a different perspective. We're letting parts of people be locked away, and how's anyone supposed to trust us if we do that and don't care?

But maybe it ain't right to just give 'em back without thinking about it, neither - 'cause some of the powers are dangerous, and all of us'd be affected if something happened. So we decided that since they don't got wardens of their own, we're gonna talk to the whole Barge about it and see if any of y'all got objections. Or-- or questions or concerns. Stuff like that.

Pietro's got super speed, and super senses so he can see things okay when he's using his super speed. Lourdes can control people's bodies, and their minds, and even the chemicals inside 'em. Now, that's a whole fucking lot - so she's mostly what I wanna talk about today, I guess. We got Iris and Jean and all those guys who can protect people from stuff like that, but it can still be dangerous. So we're asking you.

Everybody gets a say.

I'm giving Lourdes her powers back - but only when she's in the Enclosure with me. Now, I don't think she's gonna hurt me - but if she does, I don't want any of y'all hurting her back, okay? I ain't saying no punishment, or no being mad. Just no torturing or murdering or nothing. Thanks.

I'm askin' a question. You got an answer?

So, what's the not-so-easy answer?

[tucky]

That I see your point but I see her point too. That I ain't gonna give her her powers back 'cause lots of people think it's a bad idea, and they ain't wrong, but I'm still very sad about it.

[demolitions]

The problem lies in the person's capacity and inclination to use these powers with ill intent. Ain't it already a thing, where wardens can petition the admiral for restoration of an inmate's powers on a limited basis, dependin' on whether or not the person can be responsible about said powers? You're talkin' about a couple of specific people here, but Ricki's advocatin' it across the board. And when it comes down to it, where does that leave people like you and me, who ain't got a whole lot of defense against it, should things go awry?

Yeah, I saw you don't like Ricki's plan. I wonder if he's gonna go through with it.

[demolitions]

His plan throws everything out of balance can only result in mass chaos.

[tucky]

You gonna protest if he tries it?

[demolitions]

I am.

[Because there ain't no way in hell anybody's going to support Boyd's suggestion of non-empowered inmates being allowed to carry guns in any kind effort to level the playing field.]

[tucky]

You think there's gonna be a big battle 'cause of this?

[demolitions]

If things change the way Ricki's advocatin'? Hell yes. It's a little hard to say right now who's gonna be on who's side.

[tucky]

... I'm still your warden this month, you know. I'm gonna be on your side.

Thank you, I appreciate that, considerin' the unpaired, un-empowered inmates like myself are the most likely to be the victims of this whole thing.

[tucky]

Nobody's gonna be any kind of victim if I can help it.

[demolitions]

I certainly applaud your conviction, but you are only just one person in an ubiquitous sea.

[tucky]

... Okay, you know what; there's no way that one ain't a made-up word. Ubiquitous.

[demolitions]

It means extensive. I've been accused of makin' up a lotta things, but words ain't one of 'em.

[tucky]

Okay.

But you still got me on your side.

[demolitions]

Well okay, I have to ask you—if it comes down to it, how do you propose you're gonna be on my side and at the same time be on the side of those inmates whose power you're advocatin' seein' returned?

[tucky]

I ain't advocating it. I'm asking people what they think.

[demolitions]

You just admitted to bein' sad it wasn't gonna happen. I don't think you would've brought it up in the first place if it wasn't somethin' you wanted for her.
